USA Pastorates
Jerry was raised in a Christian home. He was born in Hastings, MN, and his family moved to Seattle, WA, when he was around 10 years old. From Seattle, he went into the Air Force at the age of 20 and was eventually stationed at Dow Air Force Base in Bangor, ME, where he met Sandy. Sandy was also reared in a Christian home. They were married in June 1960. Both Jerry and Sandy thought they were saved as children; however, after sitting under the preaching of God's Word at Bible Baptist in Burien, WA, they both received Christ as their Savior under the ministry of Pastor Lawrence Bong. God then called Jerry into the ministry and he enrolled at Western Baptist Bible College in El Cerrito, CA. He graduated in 1970 with the first graduating class after the College moved to Salem, OR. Since then he has served in churches in Seattle, WA; Martha Lake, WA; Lake City, WA; North Seattle, WA; Hastings, MN; Osceola, WI; Colfax, IA; and last in Brownsdale, MN.
Jerry & Sandy were introduced to Missionary Acres while serving at First Baptist Church in Brownsdale, MN. Ken and Lynne Moon presented the ministry at MA and when they realized it was open to retired pastors, they were thrilled and started making plans to retire at the Acres. They praise the Lord for leading them to Missionary Acres.
They have 4 children: Jeff, Kathy, Kevin & Rebekah, and 10 grandchildren. Their children live in Virginia, North Dakota, Colorado and California. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June 2010. They retired to Missionary Acres in October 2010.
